The Postgraduate Students Conference/Seminar Grants Scheme aims to support and promote inter-institutional and inter-disciplinary contacts among postgraduate students of the UGC-funded universities through organising locally held inter-institutional and/or inter-disciplinary conferences/seminars targeted at postgraduate students, thereby providing opportunities for postgraduate students of these universities to meet and interact with eminent scholars from outside Hong Kong.
Under the scheme, a maximum funding amount of up to HK$50,000 per application will be provided to cover the travel and accommodation costs for guest speakers who attend and speak at the conferences/seminars.
Postgraduate students should be involved either as the organiser or as a primary partner in the planning and organisation of the proposed conference/seminar. The roles and responsibilities of the postgraduate students involved or participating in the conferences/seminars must be clearly explained in the applications. The conference/seminar should be non-profit making and open to all postgraduate students in the UGC-funded sector.

Applications for the Postgraduate Students Conference/Seminar Grants are accepted all year round and should be submitted through the Research Offices (ROs) of the respective universities to the RGC at least six months prior to the commencement of the events.
