Second batch funding result of Areas of Excellence Scheme 2016/17

The Research Grants Council (RGC) announced today (February 28) the second batch funding result of the Areas of Excellence Scheme 2016/17 (Seventh Round). Further to the two proposals announced in December last year, an additional proposal has been awarded $81 million. Details of the awarded project are set out in the Annex.

In the Seventh Round exercise, 23 eligible preliminary proposals were received, with nine of them shortlisted for submission of full proposals. Among them, seven proposals were invited for selection interviews, of which three proposals were awarded a total of $248 million.
