UGC congratulates HKUST on appointment of new president

The Chairman of the University Grants Committee (UGC), Dr Alice Lam, congratulates the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) on the appointment of Professor Paul Ching-wu Chu as the second President of the university.

"Prof Chu is a distinguished scholar of international renown. I am confident that, under Prof Chu's leadership, HKUST will further develop into one of the best universities in this region, while continuing to fulfil its mission in advancing learning and knowledge through teaching and research, and in assisting in the economic and social development of Hong Kong into a knowledge-based society," Dr Lam said.s
