- The Committee found the overall quality of research proposals across disciplines to be excellent. The proposals recommended for funding were well-crafted, demonstrating robust justifications, rigorous research methods, and clear pathways to impact.
- Members observed that there was greater diversity of subject areas of humanities and social sciences proposals as compared to previous years, whereas engineering proposals interviewed had concentrated within a few narrow areas. Universities are encouraged to submit proposals in high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence, computer science, and chip technology.
- Members observed that many project teams had built up relationship with external parties, and hoped for increased interactions with and greater participation from commercial entities, allowing for more direct input from these external organisations.
