- The funded proposals demonstrated high societal impact and significant collaboration beyond academia. Panel members were pleased to see that the objectives of RIF were reflected in the proposals.
- The quality of most of the proposals was very high. Some proposals with new and extraordinary ideas would have high potential impact, albeit also with high risk. Most of the project teams displayed high expertise and passion towards their projects.
- Panel members commented that some project teams might have put excessive emphasis on the impact and showed relatively weak academic merit. They were encouraged to include more relevant academic information in their proposals, such as references from peer-reviewed publications.
