Inter-Institutional Development Scheme (IIDS) 2025/26 Exercise
  1. In general, the IIDS proposals were thoroughly prepared and of acceptable quality. Most of the themes and topics of the conference and workshops were timely and aimed at addressing challenges in the current social and educational context of Hong Kong.
  1. In some proposals, renowned speakers in their respective fields were nominated as keynote speakers for the academic activities to be organised.
  1. Principal Investigators (PIs) were advised to consider the following in preparing their future proposals -
  • highlighting the uniqueness of academic activities, including the topic, format, targeted participants and etc.;
  • providing tentative plans for evaluating and sustaining the impacts of the funded conferences and activities;
  • clearly specifying targeted participants and estimating the number of interested participants;
  • incorporating more diverse exchange formats beyond keynote speeches, paper presentations and workshops;
  • articulating how the funded academic activities would enhance the research capacity of participants; and
  • identifying potential outcomes other than conference proceedings, such as collaborative research projects with overseas and other local scholars.
