(C) Collaborative Research Fund Panel’s Comments for Applicants’ Reference

  • The Selection Panel considered the competition under CRF 2022/23 as vigorous as in last year. The Panel was impressed by the high quality of the proposals under both the routine CRF (i.e. CRPG and CREG) as well as the new YCRG, in particular on their creativity and novelty.

  • The Selection Panel was also impressed by the quality of the interview presentation by the project teams. The direct exchanges between Panel Members and the project teams helped filling the gap and clarifying Members’ concerns.

  • Project teams were encouraged to continue submitting “high-risk, high return” proposals. If considered meritorious, the Selection Panel would be delighted to support these proposals with seed money and exploratory funding for further developing their proposals and seeking full-scale funding in future. The Selection Panel would be delighted to see more proposals from the Business Studies and Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines, including YCRG proposals.
