As the global population ages, promoting healthy aging has become a priority worldwide. This public lecture explores how exercise and physical activity—rooted in scientific principles—can support physical health, cognitive function, wellbeing and longevity in older adults. This lecture will also introduce the exercise concept from the perspectives of Western and Eastern cultures. Join us to see how sports intersect to promote healthy aging, and create a new era of wellness for the silver-haired group.

Speaker:  Prof. Parco Siu
Professor and Head of the Division of Kinesiology at School of Public Health, and Assistant Dean (Well-being) of the Li Ka

Exercise or physical activity is important to human health. The World Health Organization recommends adequate aerobic physical activities and muscle-strengthening activities involving all major muscle groups. Detailed guidelines for doing the recommended amounts of physical activity are unclear. This lecture will introduce the “best” exercise approach for enhancing health.
