Jimmy LEE Ho-man

Professor Jimmy Lee is currently holding the concurrent appointment of Associate Director, University Planning Office, and Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) where he is also an Associate Head of the New Asia College. Previously, he was Associate Dean (Education) during 2019-21, Assistant Dean (Education) during 2018-19, Graduate Division Head of Financial Technology during 2019-21, Graduate Division Head of Computer Science during 2008-11 and the Curriculum Chair of Computer Science of CUHK during 2011-14 overseeing the transition to the 334-curriculum. He received the CUHK University Education Award in 2017, and was also the recipient of the CUHK Vice-Chancellor's Exemplary Teaching Award in 2005 and again in 2016.

Professor Lee received an Honours BMath (Applied Mathematics and Computer Science) degree in 1987 and a MMath (Computer Science) degree in 1988 from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Victoria, Canada, in 1992, and then joined CUHK. His research lies in the use of artificial intelligence techniques to solve constraint optimisation problems as well as the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. He has been a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers since 2012.

Professor Lee has over 15 years of experience in academic, vocational and professional accreditation of local programmes as both panel chairs and members for the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. He was also an appointed member of the Steering Committee on Strategic Development of Information Technology in Education and the Steering Committee on Selection, Quality Assurance and Review for the e-Textbook Market Development Scheme, both administered by the Education Bureau, Hong Kong SAR Government.
