Bjørn STENSAKER

Professor Bjørn Stensaker is a Professor of Higher Education and the Director of LINK – Centre for Learning, Innovation and Academic Development at University of Oslo. He is also a Research Professor at The Nordic Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research and Education in Oslo, Norway.

Professor Stensaker has a special interest in studies of governance, leadership and change in higher education, including studies of how external and internal quality assurance impacts higher education and higher education institutions. He has published widely on these issues in a range of international journals and books.

Professor Stensaker is currently an executive board member of the Karolinska Institute in Sweden; a member of the executive board of the Danish Accreditation Council; and a member of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications. He is the former President of The European Higher Education Society, and has served in a number of strategic advisory bodies for institutions and universities in various European countries.

Professor Stensaker holds a Master's degree in Political Science from University of Oslo and a PhD from Center for Higher Education Policy Studies at University of Twente in the Netherlands.
