國家自然科學基金委員會/研究資助局聯合科研資助基金 : 1999-2000年度資助研究項目
香港研究資助局(研資局)和中國國家自然科學基金委員會(科基會)今日(1999年11月30日)聯合宣佈1999-2000年度科基會/研資局聯合科研資助基金的撥款決定。該科研資助基金的目的在於促進香港與內地研究人員於信息科學、生物科學、新材料科學、海洋與環境科學、中醫中藥研究、管理科學6方面的合作。
科基會與研資局一共撥出約港幣1,500萬元資助14個申請項目，這14個獲資助的項目是由雙方經評審後共同選出。有關項目的名單列於附錄。受資助的項目的研究範圍包括微型電路技術，波浪和海洋環境的相互作用，中藥物對細胞的功能，基因功能的研究，DNA檢測法的應用，以及管理科學中供應鏈結構和動庇態信息流的研究等。
科基會與研資局於1998年11月達成協議，成立聯合科研資助基金，合作款額總數約為每年港幣1,500萬元。研資局和科基會的撥款分別為1,000萬港元和500萬元人民幣。該試驗計劃為期3年；基金的撥款可資助旅費，膳食費以及實質的研究費用。
在首年度的計劃中，基金共接獲229份初步申請書。經過兩輪篩選和評審後，科基會和研資局同意撥款資助其中14個項目。研資局的代表團曾於本年11月12日往北京出席聯合評審會議，與科基會確定有關撥款決定。
研資局主席楊綱凱教授表示有關計劃是研資局首次與內地合作推行的聯合科研資助計劃，對於計劃能順利展開表示高興。楊教授亦感謝國家自然科學基金委員會能予以合作，共同推行資助計劃；該計劃能提供一個很好的渠道，讓兩地的研究人員能就共同有興趣的研究領域作出合作，有助香港特別行政區與內地加強聯繫。
科基會和研資局亦就下年度(2000-01年)的申請程序達成共識。下年度的申請通告亦於今日由雙方分別發佈；所有初步申請須於2000年1月15日或之前向研資局提交。
