Institutional Development Scheme (IDS)

  1. The project teams are advised to articulate the linkage between the proposal and the strategic areas of the institution.

  2. The proposals should be more specific and focus on a few specific achievable areas. There should be suitable personnel in the project team to implement the project, instead of relying on junior staff to carry out the work.

  3. The budget should be modest where possible. Request for funding for organizing conferences, seminars and workshops, purchasing of equipment and datasets, and engaging overseas scholars to provide mentorship to faculty members should be well justified.

  4. The project teams are expected to articulate in the proposals the outcomes of the proposed activities, how these activities are related to the project objectives, how they may enhance the research capacity of faculty members and how the effectiveness of such activities can be measured.
