Grace CHOU Ai-ling

Professor Grace CHOU Ai-ling was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Canada, and received her higher education in the United States. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii in Modern Chinese Intellectual History, specializing in the history of Hong Kong higher education in its cultural and political contexts. As a scholar, her research focuses on the roots and implications of educational policy, and the impact of global power structures on the governance of education and culture.

Professor Chou is especially interested in innovative pedagogies that promote critical thinking and active learning. She is deeply involved in programme development and quality assurance at Lingnan, in the areas of History, Music, Global Studies, Core Curriculum, Interdisciplinary Arts and Liberal Arts. She is experienced in student admissions, institutional benchmarking, and programme review at postgraduate, first-degree and sub-degree levels.
