Tracy ZOU

Dr Tracy Zou has been working on higher education teaching and learning with a focus on teaching and teacher development. She joined the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) as an assistant professor in 2014. She has been actively engaged in identifying, collecting, and promoting exemplary teaching and learning practices in HKU and beyond through a community of practice approach. Dr Zou is currently leading a three-year cross-institutional teaching and learning project on internationalisation of teaching and learning and building professional capacity (amount: HKD 3.6 million).

Along with her teaching work, Dr Zou is also actively engaged in higher education research and uses it to inform her practices. Her research interests include teaching and teacher development, intercultural group work, experiential learning, and knowledge management. The latest publication (2017) is a book chapter on ‘Fostering Dialogue about Practices’ co-authored with her colleagues at the Centre.

Dr Zou is also highly committed to serving the professional community. She serves on an external reference group to a teaching development project on ‘global citizenship’ in La Trobe University, as a critical friend to the Student-Led Network organised by the Education Bureau of the Government of HKSAR, as an editorial board member of VINE Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems, and as a reviewer of a number of higher education journals and conferences.
