Enhanced webpage enables customised searches on UGC-funded programmes

Members of the public may conduct customised and personalised searches for statistical data on tertiary institutions funded by the University Grants Committee (UGC) through the newly revamped statistics page launched on the UGC website today (July 12).

The enhanced search functions will provide members of the public not only convenient access to statistical data on UGC-funded institutions, but also an additional reference for applicants to UGC-funded programmes.

With the enhanced webpage, applicants may customise their own statistical tables by selecting data sets from a number of choices, such as student number, academic year and level of study.

The new webpage also allows users to group general statistics by either individual UGC-funded institutions or academic programmes. Up to eight institutions or programmes can be chosen at any one time, together with multiple statistical attributes specified by the user. Alternatively, visitors may find pre-grouped statistical tables that cover frequently-requested information.

"It is important that members of the public have easy access to a wide range of data concerning the higher education sector. Other users such as applicants, parents, students and advisors need to be able to customise their data access for specific purposes." the Secretary-General of the UGC, Dr Richard Armour said. "We believe that our new user-friendly webpage allows both of these goals to be achieved."
