Sub-Group on Research Postgraduate Programmes

Terms of Reference

In the context of taking forward the Planning Exercise for the 2025/26 to 2027/28 triennium, the Sub-Group on Research Postgraduate Programmes is established under the Strategy Sub-group of University Grants Committee to–

1. assume the primary role in assessing universities’ Planning Exercise Proposals (PEPs) in respect of research;

2. devise assessment framework for allocation of RPg student places;

3. consider the recommended allocation of RPg student places;

4. endorse the outcome of R-portion allocation based on established methodologies; and

5. finalise the recommended allocation of the R-Portion as well as other related issues such as extra-formulaic requests on RPg programmes.
