Brief introduction:

It is commonly believed that a variety of supplements, such as calcium and magnesium, is able to help reinforce bone's health. According to the literatures, magnesium can be beneficial to bone growth and plays a key role in bone remodelling and skeletal development. However, taking calcium supplement alone cannot improve bone's quality. Dr Yeung will give a lecture titled "Will calcium supplement really rescue your bone quality?" to explain the underlying mechanism and science to the general public.

About the Speaker:

Kelvin Yeung is passionate in orthopaedic biomaterial research for more than 15 years. His major research areas cover from the development of metallic and polymeric orthopaedic biomaterials, to bone implant design and development as well as musculoskeletal tissue engineering. He is currently the tenured associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, The University of Hong Kong. His h-index is 35 with more than 3,800 citations in 150+ peer-reviewed SCI journal papers and 38 filed full patents in various countries.
