Michael YAM Chi-ho

Dr Michael Yam Chi Ho received his BSc degree in Civil Engineering with Distinction from the University of Alberta, Canada and subsequently completed his MSc and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering at the same University. Dr Yam is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and The Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers.

Dr Yam is currently an Associate Professor of the Department of Building and Real Estate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was also the Associate Head from 2011 to 2014 and Interim Head from 2014 to 2015 of the Department Building and Real Estate. Recently, Dr Yam was appointed Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Chinese National Engineering Research Centre for Steel Construction (Hong Kong Branch) which was established in October 2015 with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology, PRC, and support from the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. Dr Yam is the Vice President of the Hong Kong Constructional Metal Structures Association and the Chinese Research Institution of Construction Management. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Building Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.
