Paul STAPLETON

Dr Paul Stapleton began his career in education in Hong Kong teaching survival English to Vietnamese refugees. He then taught in Macau at the University of East Asia (now UMacau) for a few years and spent 20 years at Hokkaido University in Japan ending his tenure there as a Professor. He now works at The Education University of Hong Kong.

Dr Stapleton's research interests are second language acquisition, critical thinking and research methods. Aside from academia, he has authored multiple course books and is an advocate for environmental protection, quality education and healthy skepticism via his op-eds in Hong Kong's daily newspapers.
